OVERVIEW :
HP-Rope was incorporated in 1993, in Surabaya - Indonesia.
The company was founded by its principal owner, Mr. S. Woentono, who
has over 40 years of experience in the yarn and cordage businesses.
As one of HAPETE's divisions, HP-Rope manufactures high quality
braided ropes in various diameters, colours, materials and weaving
types.
The main goal of the company is to provide customers with the highest
quality cordage at a very competitive price. Specialty orders and
request are treated with the same consideration as international standarts.
BRAIDED
CONSTRUCTIONS :
Diamond
Braid
Diamond braid is manufactured by weaving ends
of yarn over and under.
This pattern gives the cord a diamond pattren noticeable on the
outside of the product.
Diamond braids can be made with a cente core (filler) of varying
fibers, or can be coreless (hollow braid).

Solid
Braid
Solid braid is very firm, round and tightly woven with a special
lock-sticth construction which prevents unraveling when cut or torn.
Double
Braid
When the ropes as well as the core are braided, the construction
is known as "double braid" or "braid on braid. This
is the strongest and most expensive of all ropes.
INFORMATION ABOUT MATERIALS COMMONLY USED :
Nylon
Nylon is the strongest of all ropes in common use and when stretched
has a "memory" for returning to its original length. For
this reason, it is best for absorbing shock loads, as is the case
when lifting or towing. Nylon lasted 4 - 5 times longer than natural
fibers because it has good abrasion resistance and is not damaged
by oil or most chemicals. In addition, it has good resistance to
ultraviolet deterioration from sunlight.

Polyester
Filament and Spun Polyester
Polyester is used when a lower stretch factor is needed. It is very
closed to nylon in strenght when a steady force is applied. It is
equally resistant to moistures and chemicals and superior in abrasion
resistance and resistance to sunlight.
Polypropylene
This material is very strong, economical with many uses. Because of
its light weight, polypropylene is the only rope which floats. Its
life can be extended by storing it away from direct sunlight. It is
not as strong as nylon or polyester. Because polypropylene is less
expensive than other fibers, it is the most popular all-purpose rope
for the average consumers.
Cotton
Cotton is not as strong as the synthetic braided, but is used in many
applications where superior knot holding is required.
Cordura
Cordura is a high quality and expensive material. This material is
used extensively as high quality laces. |
